Engadget, among other news sources, reported on Tuesday that the Consumer Electronics Association has announced a new connection standard for portable media players (PMPs). The idea is to create one universal connector and port/socket to charge and play portable devices.
Sounds great to me. Particularly in a world where more mobile devices are becoming PMPs. Now, can that connector also support media transfer so I can easily sync up any PMP with my DVR? Oh wait, that’s called USB!
