Motorola co-hosted a telebriefing yesterday with Patti Reali from Gartner and Ruchir Rodrigues from Verizon. There were a number of good stats thrown out, and you can sort through some of them in the Motorola press release or listen to the audio replay of the event. However, the one that gave me pause was a shipment update on DVRs. To date, Motorola has now shipped more than 10 million DVRs worldwide. Ten million.
That stat goes hand in with the more than 15 million HD set-tops Motorola has shipped, and I believe Motorola must now be over 70 million digital video set-top shipments globally.
