Here’s the Seagate eSATA drive for the Motorola DCH set-tops. Announced yesterday, it adds storage for the DVR – up to one terabyte’s worth of TV shows. That’s 200 hours of HD or 1,000 hours of SD content.

Oh this is great! You mean this will actually WORK on a Motorola set top? That’s good news! For a long time, Motorola was the only set top with non functioning eSATA ports. I hope the operators don’t keep these ports disabled! 120 or 160GB is very paltry not only in todays HD viewing habits, but tomorrows as well.
Glad to see some innovation at this year’s Cable Show! I wish I could of made it there! I would of loved to see how the new TV Guide performed on the Tru2Way stack on the Moto’s.

Really don’t need Comcast or Motorola to rent me an eSATA drive in a fancy case with a branded box, or sell it to me at a ridiculous markup. I just want Comcast to tell me the eSATA port is active, and I’ll handle the rest. My Motorola set-top boxes have Ethernet ports and eSATA ports that have obvious capabilities for storage and networking, but are disabled. Why?
