Earlier this month Motorola hosted a Video User Conference in sunny San Diego, and highlights from the event are rolling in. The conference has become an annual shindig, and this year’s event included more than 350 Motorola video customers – MSOs, telcos, content providers and programmers. In a series of videos, Motorolans on the ground captured what these customers had to say about trends in the market. The first video, shown here, focuses on Motorola customers talking through some of their biggest successes with video in the past year, as well as what opportunities lie ahead. Some of the themes you’ll hear repeatedly: growth in HD & DVRs, IPTV, and the impact of the digital transition.
One of the most astute observations however comes from HBO’s Craig Cuttner, who says:
[Our] biggest success so far is actually using new technology, without anyone ever knowing you’re using new technology.
Have a watch. Tell us what you think they missed. And we’ll post more videos with more insights in the coming days.
