New Motorola Gateways!

I understand that most people are looking forward to a different Motorola hardware announcement, but on the broadband side of the house there is news out today on a new line of Motorola SURFboard modems and gateways. (Take that Android! ;))

Motorola SURFboard DOCSIS 3 modemThe new data products are DOCSIS 3.0-enabled and offer twice the throughput of earlier models with support for eight downstream and four upstream channels.  Depending on an operator’s needs, these channels can be bonded together for downstream speeds up to 300 Mbps and upstream speeds over 100 Mbps. The new devices are all equipped with remote management features, and the all-in-one gateways include a four-port router and 802.11n access point. (‘Tis the new age of home networking)

More to come from the SCTE press release file, and stay tuned for live blogging from the show beginning tomorrow.
