The outlook for Tru2way in retail may not be good, but CableLabs recently held an interop to show how the cable industry can use the technology to move content among multiple Tru2way set-tops, as well as DLNA devices. The interop followed the latest revision of the Tru2way home networking extension spec that was released back in June.
In other CableLabs news, the CableLabs Summer conference will take place next week outside of Denver. Motorola will be there, focused both on solutions for converging Internet and TV content, and security technology for multi-screen content delivery. Meanwhile, for folks who can’t make it out to the show, CableLabs will also host a conference-call briefing on August 16th to highlight the event’s Innovation Showcase. From the CableLabs media advisory:
CableLabs will host a media briefing via conference call on Monday, August 16, at 2 p.m. MDT. The call will focus on the Innovation Showcase event that will be held that morning during the CableLabs Summer Conference. Featuring 12 companies, the showcase contains a mix of established as well as venture capital-stage companies, who will present and demonstrate cutting edge broadband technologies for the audience of predominantly cable technology executives. Recipient of The Best Product Idea, which will be voted on through informal polling of cable industry executives during the session, will be announced.
