With SCTE Cable-Tec Expo over and done for another year, I’m still collecting my thoughts on what’s the same, and what’s changed since the show in 2009. In the meantime, I landed on a Motorola video supporting one of the company’s demos from the show floor this year. Take a look above at the clip on Motorola’s automated backup solution for cable Digital Access Controllers. It offers incremental, automated off-site back-up of DAC subscriber data. No tape, no worries.

The video was so cool.Everything is so good about this service i will have to try this out.I have a backup tool setup on my computer and it is called Safecopy backup,It has helped me in my securing all my crucial data.
I despise tapes! I run an EMC SAN and back everything up to disk, shoot it over the fiber to a remote location and use Celerra replicator to keep both copies of data in sync. Much better than carrying tapes, having them go bad, buying them, etc…
