Back in September, Verizon and Motorola launched the Ultimate Game Day Access sweepstakes with a chance to win a VIP experiences at one of 10 NFL regular-season games as well as a trip and tickets to Super Bowl XLV with VIP access. The contest is now over, but with more than 85,000 entires, it ranks as the largest Verizon FiOS consumer contest ever.
Here’s a quick review of why Motorola and Verizon ran the NFL-themed sweepstakes. First, Motorola has been a long-time sponsor of the NFL, and a major proponent of high-quality football viewing at home with HD DVR set-tops that support high-def broadcasts and instant-replay action. (3D games supported too!) Verizon, meanwhile, delivers the NFL RedZone channel, and a Football Widget, which features rosters, player details and headline news from around the NFL. More recently, Verizon also launched a limited-time beta trial application letting subscribers watch a RedZone stream on an iPad tablet within the radius of a home Wi-Fi router.
We may have entered the holiday season, but football season is still going strong. And one lucky winner is getting Super Bowl tickets wrapped up with a bow this year.
