Remember the Motorola SBG6580 SURFboard® eXtreme Wireless Cable Modem Gateway that hit Best Buy retail shelves last year and won several awards? Well, it is also currently sold at Fry’s Electronics, Amazon.com and is now at Walmart.com and will be hitting Radio Shack stores very soon.
The most widely deployed DOCSIS 3.0 gateway in retail in the U.S., the SBG6580 allows a much greater bandwidth for the internet connection (based on the service level subscribed to). There is also integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi in the Gateway. No wonder several MSO’s adopted the unit last year including Time Warner, Brighthouse, Eastlink and VTR.
