It was something of a surprise this summer when Intel announced support for OpenCable (OCAP). But given that move, I guess it shouldn’t be a shock that Intel is joining the Multimedia over Coax (MoCA) Alliance. One takeaway: Big companies still see reason to invest in technologies for coaxial networks. Fiber is spreading, but there will still be coax cable in the ground for a long time to come.
